Pottery gives me a space to meditate and create.
Hi I’m Elizabeth Claire, or E’Claire.
As a ceramic artist, I find profound beauty in the simplicity of form and the delicate interplay of light and shadow.
My work is a reflection of my deep connection to nature and my fascination with movement.
Each piece I create is an exploration of balance—between functionality and aesthetic expression, between tradition and innovation.
Drawing inspiration from the organic shapes found in the natural world and the human form, I strive to create pieces that are calming to look at in your home.
My process is at the wheel, handbuilding with a rolling pin, and as a former dancer sometimes dancing on clay to get texture. I connect to my work and saying goodbye to pieces is bittersweet as I’ve placed love and care into personifying them.
My goal is to create objects that inspire contemplation and enrich the everyday rituals of life.
At the heart of my practice lies a deep respect for the ancient art of pottery. I also embrace experimentation and spontaneity, constantly pushing the boundaries of my medium to discover new possibilities. Whether it’s finding an
interesting stone on a walk to use as a tool, or rediscovering how to create light in your home by building “light sculptures.“
My father was a builder and he felt it was important I work with my hands. Each piece bears the imprint of my hands, carrying with it a story that cannot be replicated. Clay is a spiritual practice for me.
Ultimately, my work is a celebration of the beauty of imperfection and the power of art to connect us to ourselves and to the world around us. Through my ceramics, I invite you to pause, to breathe, and to find solace in the quiet moments of beauty that surround us.
